Default Vista Parent Control Settings

Hi all new to forum so apologies if this has done before.
My Son has Limewire on his PC and as a concerned parent I have set up parental controls on Vista. Unfortunately this seems to stop Limewire connecting to the internet.
Does anybody know what setting I should have to give me, as a parent, piece of mind but also allow my son to use Limewire.
Thanks

I found this info in FAQ's -- Hope it helps you

Q: How can I prevent my children from seeing adult content in the search results?
A: The filter option can block access to files in a variety of ways. Go to Tools, Options, Filters, and Keywords. Here you'll be able to set limitations to the search results you receive. For example:
  1. If you don't wish to see particular search results (for example, pictures of Niagara Falls), enter that data into the text field and click "Add".
  2. Click on "Ignore Adult Content" to filter pornography.
  3. You can use the built-in "Ignore vbs files" and "Ignore .htm/.html files" features to block Visual Basic Scripts and web pages, respectively, from your search results (please note this can also be done by searching for media types only)
  4. If there are particular IP addresses you wish to ignore (if, for example, a particular IP address was sending you unsolicited results), click under Hosts where you could enter that IP address into the "Ignore these hosts" window and click "Add."
  5. LimeWire can also learn which types of files are "junk" search results and which ones are valid. When a "junk" result is retrieved, select it and click the "Junk" button to mark it as junk.

Default entering limewire

My problem isn't really about parental controls. My roomate set up lime wire but I am the administrator. I am not computer savvy, so I turned off the PCs on her, yet it still requires a password for her to enter limewire. This is annoying to her and more to me in case i am at work. Help!

I wondered just where her PCs might be, why you would want to turn them off, and if the procedure can be reversed. Could it be that you meant to inform us that you removed the password for her User ID?

To help you to solve your problem we would have to know a little more, such as what kind of computer you have, the operating system you use, and the means by which you set passwords (via the OS or other security software). The problem is unrelated to Limewire.

Default More info...

I have an hp pavilion slimline that i bought last year. It has Windows Vista. When i created her a user profile the pcs were turned on atomatically. I turned them off. I believe the problem is in the User Account Control settings. They are turned off though...

I knew she couldn't download anything w/t my password (the administrator's), so i helped her with that. the next day it was asking for my password before letting her on LimeWire.
