![]() Hey, been using Limewire fine for years, across multiple platforms and suddenly it's stopped working, both before and after the "security update". Basically, it will start up, then 3 seconds into the GUI loading Vista will throw up the "LimeWire has stopped working" box, and eventually shut the program down. No error logs (that I can find anyway) and no complaints from Java. I have tried all solutions, linked on all forums, stickies, etc etc. Uninstalled Java, reinstalled with previous versions. Even tried older versions of LimeWire (although very hard to get hold of) and it just hasn't fixed anything at all. Running as admin, ran in all compatabilities, still the same results. Anyone else? os: Windows Vista Home Premium :: cpu: Intel Core2 6700 2.66GHz (at 2666 MHz) :: mem: 915/2046 MB (44%) :: gfx: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS (1280x1024x32bit 60Hz) Last edited by leavethisplace; May 1st, 2008 at 03:42 AM. Reason: VBulletin sucks. |

![]() Do you have an Antivirus Application? if you do (Good onya - congratulations) make sure it's virus signatures are up to date and do a thorough scan of your whole system. If you don't have an Antivirus Application slap yourself around the head a bit at the same time as chanting "what sort of silly sausage am I?" and then Download AVG free antivirus from here: AVG Free - Download antivirus and antispyware software for Windows XP and Vista update it's signature files and let it do a thorough scan of your system. If it finds anything let it remove the virus or trojan and do another scan to make sure it has done it's job. It might be wise to run something like some sort of anti Spyware software like SpyBot available from here: The home of Spybot-S&D! If that don't work and you've read all the links that Ursula posted for you, post back here and someone may have some more information for you. Good Luck!
