Beginner, Vista User, Install Trouble
 

Hi: I seem to have a firewall in the bottom corner of limewire. I checked McAfee but Limewire is enabled. Also, in the left corner it keeps saying Limewire is connecting.
Help, simple language please :)

Make sure VISTA firewall is turned off.

Still don't know what your problem is boho, my guess is you are having problems installing right? Or you have installed but some problems with uploading & downloading files? Check the topics here & see if any apply to your problem: MAJOR TOPICS for Upload/Download HELP

The next time you reply do not click on the "B" button at the top left of the reply panel. All your posts are showing as "Bold" print and this is unnecessary.
To educate yourself about Limewire the best place to start is to read the documentation that was offered to you when you first registered to post at this forum (especially any section that says FAQ) and also to read as many of the "Sticky" threads at the beginning of each of the forums. if you are not having problems there is really no point in writing to these forums. This place is a forum for people that are having problems one way or another with their installation of Limewire.

No-one from Limewire is going to ring or make special contact with you. Why don't you just click on the underlined blue links provided and use the information posted there to help you. There is more than enough information provided there to help any new user.

no security for credit card, price advertised changed
 

New to this but I have an important question hopefully a moderator can help me with. I wanted to get limewire PRO for 6 months. It advertised a special deal for $13.95. Then when I went to the page it was showing $21.95. So I stopped. Also the page where you enter email and credit card information does not show a "security lock" like most sites, protection my card info. Obviously I did not upgrade. Why no protection? Why the price change when I went to the upgrade page?

$21.95 is normal price for 6 months support & updates.
There was an offer for LW without free updates. It appears LW has stopped that offer.
If you are a present pro user, over the last month of your support they offer you a discount to continue. You would click the link they give you in the email to get that discount offer. :)

I'm not sure about the security option, but am aware they dropped one form of the payments type. I suspect that might be related. I think it was paypal they dropped.

If you go to the bottom of the payment page, there is a Submit Securely button option.
