losing connection with vista and windows live one care

I have vista and my antivirus is windows live one care. I have the latest version of limewire and java. I just started having this problem. I will be downloading movies for about an hour and I start losing bars at the bottom and then it will just disconnect itself. I am a beginner and do not understand alot of it. My firewall is not coming up. Sometimes I get a message saying there was an internal error with limewire. I have tried downloading an older version of limewire but it stalls half way through installing and won't finish.. Please help.
