Question Help with Lime Wire Pro

Hello to all,

I purchased Lime Wire Pro back in 2005 from the official Lime Wire site. At that time, they claimed it to be a one time charge, which it has been. I run Win98 SE, with 512MB RAM and a motherboard with about a .5hz processor. It was worked fine so far, and still has.

I recently got this DELL laptop with Vista HP, and 2GB RAM. (1720-I) I DL the basic, figuring I'd be able to use my Lime Wire Pro. It tells me that my e-mail isn't recognized.

I don't feel it proper to have to repurchase the software. How would I install what I have on the old desktop computer, onto the DELL?...

All the best,

Mark Kanges

Hi Mark

Unfortunately there has never been a life time membership for Limewire...There was only ever a 6 month membership and then if you wanted continued support and newer versions you would have to re-purchase at a discounted price...

Recently they have brought in an extended membership of 12 months..

This is the official site.... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

If you want to transfer your existing Pro version onto your new computer, back up the limewire installer onto an external drive or disk and transfer it that way...

Hi,

OK..I'll try that then. Should I unistall the Lime Wire Basic I downloaded to the new computer first, before attempting to install my old Pro first?

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, you may as well, but just make sure you uninstall the correct way....

The correct way to uninstall is Start > All programs > Limewire/Uninstaller

Use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name. If you can't delete them, reboot into safe mode & then try. If they still won't delete, try one of the tools here...
Incomplete Download File won't delete at all.
