New user says Hello! and Please help!! iTunes problem

Hi! I've been a Limewire user for ~ 2 years now and never had any problems until yesterday. Looking forward to hearing from users/admins with some advice.

I exclusively download music files, and have been doing so in my new PC w/o problems since I bought in December (Windows Vista). Files are downloaded to a specific folder, from which I import them to my iTunes. Two days ago I downloaded the newest version of iTunes and it all went crazy from there. When I open Limewire and search for a file, most will have an icon that looks like a "Q" inside of the old icon with the musical sign. Moreoover, when I downloaded ANY and ALL music files, iTunes will not open them! I'm pretty desperate at this point. Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Two things I can think of here.

(1) Since iTunes v. 7.7 up to the recent v.8.0 version, LW's shared library has not been compatible with LW since iTunes made these changes. Some people say they had success with downgrading their iTunes version. Yet some others including myself had problems with the older iTunes refusing to load the newer iTunes Music Library. So you can either take a risk with that, else ignore the Shared Library issue & simply deal with it in other ways. Such as looking at most recently added files playlist. And adding music files correctly such as by drag & drop. (2) Some files are fakes. They may even be viruses posing as mp3's or wma files. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...tml#post327233 ___ http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...load-help.html
