![]() Hi. I have previously had Limewire 4.16.6 installed on my computer and have attempted MANY TIMES to install and use 4.18.8. It installs successfully and then opens. However, if i attempt to start the program again, even if i close it down straight away and then 2 seconds later start it up again, 4.16.6 starts again. I have tried and tried and tried and I cannot find a single file on my entire system which relates to the 4.16.6 version - only 4.18.8 files. So why is 4.16.6 starting? Any help is appreciated. Many Thanks. |

![]() Delete the LW prefs folder. Search your computer for limewire, see how many program versions exist. If LW 4.16 exists then is it in a different location to 4.18? LW 4.18 should have removed the previous version at the beginning of the installation process. To delete your LW prefs folder Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) else http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html Use the Start menu -> Programs -> LW -> Uninstall, option. (May need to do this twice.) ! Then use either or BOTH _ Crap Cleaner _ & _ Microsoft Windows Install Clean Up to clean registry. Then reinstall LW using this OFFLINE installer: http://www9.limewire.com/download/LimeWireWin-full.exe |
