![]() I don't know what's wrong really. This is what happens: Sorry for the big pic, but this one is easiest to see: ![]() The messages have a button that say "Copy Report." This is what it says when I copy and paste the report: FrostWire version 4.17 Java version 1.6.0_11 from Sun Microsystems Inc. Windows Vista v. 6.0 on x86 Free/total memory: 32214168/33357824 com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader$StartupFailed Exception: .\hashes (The system cannot find the file specified) at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.sanityCheck(U nknown Source) at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.GUILoader.load(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknow n Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Un known Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at com.limegroup.gnutella.gui.Main.main(Unknown Source) STARTUP ERROR! Could someone tell what is wrong and how to fix it? I have uninstalled both Limewire and Frostwire with no intent to use either one again but these messages persist no matter how many times I exit them. I'm afraid I may have a small virus. |

![]() 1. Virus thread: Typical virus spam file sizes - Make a note of them (click on blue link to see) 2. Of course you can 'only' blame yourself for not reading up on advice 'before' using the program. Check (a) WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! (click on blue link), & also (b) LimeWire continually Popping up & also Opening at System Startup (click on link) 3. Good luck with your endeavors. Obviously it will not be p2p related. But next step, make sure you do read the advice given & not just mystify/rookie yourself into your intention & become surprised when things do not succeed like you hoped. ![]() |

![]() Im getting that same error for limewire that he displayed in the first post of this thread. Ive scanned my computer several time with 3 different antivirus programs, AVG, nortons and one other and i dont have a virus. But that stupid pop-up keeps coming back saying that i have a corrupted download of limewire. When i redownloaded it after uninstalling the entire program and folder limewire will not run on my computer. It will install fine but it will run automatically and i cant stop it cuz it wont open limewire for me at all. There has to be a solution to this problem and like ive said ive scanned my computer several times and i dont have a virus. |

![]() One thought was the problem might have been a virus. It may simply be either corrupt installations of LW or Java or it may be multiple versions of Java conflicting with each other. Try suggestions here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...tml#post333278 This includes deleting the LW & FW preferences folders if you have any. For Windows XP see Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) Most win 2000 & XP users will use step 3 nowadays. For Vista see: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html The basic idea here is to remove all LW, FW & Java versions & preferences, then clean the registry. Then reinstall both LW & Java using the 'offline' installers which make for safer installations. ![]() |

![]() Different topic, however, check (a) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-firewall.html, & (b) If LW Will Not Connect (click on the blue link) |
