![]() Hi. I'm sure this issue has been discussed before, but after exhaustive searching, I decided to ask here. I got a new computer last month with the Vista operating system. I downloaded Limewire 5.1 and now have problems with sound quality. My previous computer used XP. I had Limewire for years with excellent results and excellent playback sound. This probably isn't a Limewire issue but a Vista one but I cannot understand why the playback of my music downloads has such a muffled and terrible sound. I see Vista doesn't have actual bass and treble controls like XP had (unless I'm not finding them). I only bought the $ 13.95 Limewire download so far and I wonder if buying the entire 1 year Limewire Pro would make any difference. To say the least, it's frustrating. I have over a thousand songs in my files from my former downloads to XP which I transferred to my new computer. The sound on them is excellent, but anything new I now download with Limewire 5.1 is terrible. Anybody out there with any advice?? Settings I can change, other software downloads that might help, etc? Thanks.....Rod Thanks |

![]() Hi Rod, I don't use Vista, but in case another Vista user can help you - 1. Have you used LW 4 on the new computer without these issues? 2. Are you trying to play files using the LW player? 3. Have you tried disabling LW's player & using different players? VLC player is a free one that we recommend here, you could give that a try. Check out this link for info: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-t...p3-fixers.html Pro is Pro... don't pay for a year's worth if you're not happy with the one time download. It won't make a bit of difference ![]() If you're sure that it's a Vista issue rather than a player issue - go to control panel & see whether there's a 'sounds & audio devices' equivalent or whether you have an icon there for your sound card - maybe you can adjust things that way. Otherwise, check out these links below, or use Google to see whether you can find any more info.
