Can't Delete LimeWire Folder Hello, I am VERY new to this forum, so please forgive me if I make mistakes. My system is: Vista Home Premium, 32bit I have LimeWire on my computer, and wanted it off. So I removed it the way you are suppose to via: Uninstall I still find this when I do a search looking for hidden files: Folder Name: LimeWire This is what I see but can't delete: Roaming (C:\Users\Michael\AppData) Can anyone help me in finding a way to get this off my computer? |
If you are logged in as administrator you should be able to delete the folder. It sounds like a permissions problem to me. If you can go directly to the app folder & delete it from there. Send it to recycle bin. |
Can't Delete LimeWire Folder Thanks for the reply. Every time I put the mouse on it, or try to do anything it kicks me out if IE I have scanned and found NO viruses |
Internet Explorer? How about doing it after a reboot into safe mode. Oh did you check app folder permissions, do you have access? Likewise for LW prefs folder. |
I will try that.... if I can remember what F button to push down |

Ok, Well in SAFE MODE, I found 2 exe. files and one folder. When I tried to delete the folder IE booted me out. Still looked for viruses...non found. Do I need to install LimeWire first, then uninstall it differently? |
hmmmm....sounds like something fishy...in safe mode those files should NOT be active and you should be able to delete them... I notice, though, that the folder you are referring to seems to be "appdata"...I'm thinking this is a system folder and should not be deleted...try instead to delete just the files... |
Can't Delete LimeWire Folder Thanks for the reply... Yea, I thought the same about Safe Mode. I did delete the exe. files, but the folder rermains. Why does it have it say Roaming though? |
the word roaming makes me wonder also....I've never seen that as far as I remember, but then again 1) I don't use explorer to move through my directories and 2)I'm sticking with XP until something past Vista comes out (I think of Vista=Me..bleh)... here's something to try....boot into safe mode without networking...beyond that I'm stumped.. |
