addarmstrong,

Which version of LW are you using now & which version did you have the same problem with?

Does LW freeze at any particular time (eg when loading the program, when loading your library, while searching, while downloading etc)?

Have you made sure that you only have one version of Java installed?

I'm not sure which post of LOTR's you mean. Have you tried the fixes here? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...ng-should.html

caine6621,

Which version of LW are you using?

Have you made sure that you only have one version of Java installed?

You could try this earlier version of Java 6:Archive: Download Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE) 6u5
Download the JRE offline installer. Remove all other Java versions installed on your computer via Control Panel. Next, install the version that you've just downloaded. Restart your computer.

Have you ever used LW 4 & if so, was that version working ok?

Was the link that I posted in post #3 the same one that you'd seen before? If so, did you delete LW's preferences folder?

Do you only have one version of Java installed on your computer?

Try the older version of Java that I linked to in post #3.

When you try to remove Java, do you see an error something like 'fatal error during installation'?

Check out post #11 in the thread below. The first link in post #11 has info about a MS cleanup utility - see whether that helps at all

I can't uninstall Java. I tried to remove it manually but one freaking file won't delete. I tried that registry cleaner but when I went to run the exe file it said I don't have permission
