Display is showing up choppy and there is a large black stripe on ther right side

Just started using LW again and just downloaded the Basic 5.3.6 and have encountered a problem with the display, it is very choppy and there is a large black stripe on the right side, as i am not very tech savy i dont know if its my comp or the program. Here is a pic
