Default convering mva file to mp3

i am new to this forum. the problem i am having is that many of my audio downloads are in the mva format. i cannot open them. how can i convert these files to the mp3 format???

system info:

limewire 5.0.11
windows 7 os
ram 4gb
64 bit os
trend micro system antivirus program
satellite connection via portable modem

mva format or m4a format?
m4a = mp4 audio format.
You should not need to convert them nor should you as it will result in loss of quality. You probably need to get the mp4 audio codec for your player to play them.

If the files are mva, erm that is not an audio format afaik. AFAIK mva = Video Card Driver. aka an .MVA file is known as a Video accelerator file.

thanks for the quick reply. appreciated. the type of audio i tend to get are:
Windows Media(TM) Audio Track (.wma)

i cannot open them. also, i do not understand why most downloaded audio are this type.

Most WMA files on the network are spam & some potentially dangerous. See tips here How to find music. I'd recommend blocking .WMA files from searches.

LW's menu bar, Tools -> Options -> Search, click Filter File Extensions
Don't forget to put dot before it.

thanks again. I've been told by friends that limewire is known for infecting computers. how mu ch truth is that. I've not had a problem
