2.3.3 Pro WOW!
 

WoW, I just installed 2.3.3 pro and it works GREAT! I also upgraded my java from 1.3.1 to 1.4 but after both upgrades my connection speed way more than doubled. Search speeds were also like 10x faster and the connection was much more stable. Great.

I have Win XP and Sun Java 1.3.1 and am downloading 1.4 now.

Hopefully this will stop Limewire Pro 2.3.3 from crashing all the time!!

Java 1.4.0
 

After installing the Java JRE 1.4.0 I get all sorts of crashes and hangs. I'm running in Win98SE, mind you (which may be the root of all evil ), but when I was running 1.3.1, I didn't get these sorts of problems.

I don't notice any faster searches and downloads on 2.3.3 with 1.4.0, so it may just be where you're hitting, and what times you're on.

Did you uninstall 1.3.1 and Limewire before installing 1.4 and the newest LimeW Pro 2.3.3?

You need to reinstall everything with the Java upgrade.

The limewire code doesn't change just because you are using a new version of java. (different parts may be used, but it's all there already)

And more than one java version can coexist perfectly fine on one computer. I'm running three in fact. 1.2.2, 1.3.1, and 1.4.0, and switch between them as I see fit.

Pardon me, It just occured to me. You would need to reinstall, so the installed shortcuts point to the new version of java. This didn't occur to me, as I am capable of changing the shortcuts myself ;)
