Limewire Freezes my Satellite connection

After a few hours and now after only minutes Limewire 2.4.4 and the previous version 2.2 freezes up my Earthlink Direcway Satellite Internet connection.
I must restart my computer then.
Am using Win XP Prof, 1800Gb AMD XP with 500 mb ram. HELP! John
