Tired of upgrade prompt I don't want Limewire Pro. Not at all. Even if it was free. So how the heck can I get Limewire 2.4.1 to stop asking me to upgrade to it? It is really rude to ask the question "Do you want to upgrade?", when the only answers you will accept are "Yes" and "Later". Very annoying indeed. |
How to disable the upgrade check Open the limewire.props file in the LimeWire program directory (~/.limewire in Linux) in Notepad or your favorite text editor and make sure you have a line that says: CHECK_AGAIN=false If it's there and says =true then change it to =false. If the CHECK_AGAIN line isn't there, add it. |
Thanks much. Still irritating that I should have to manually edit a config file to achieve this. And even more irritating that it is undocumented, but at least the irritation is over for now. |
doesn't work I'm using version 4.2.6 and this didn't work? Is there another step when using a different version? |
