Locks Up Again It seems to lock up after about 1 min into program. If I start doing searches it starts ok, then all of a sudden the mouse cursor is gone. Total lock-up, I can't even get the control/alt/delete keys to respond, to end program. I am getting very tired of having to re-boot with even the pro-version. I have even done a clean limewire install. Better see what is up with the code on the pro version 2.1.1 and the conflict with possible windows XP Home Edition or something. I will attempt it one more time. I really would like to share music and stop having to re-boot everytime I start the program. |

Same problem I'm having the same problem, 5 mins into seaching or downloading everything freezes up. I press Ctrl, Alt, Del and the window comes, saying Limewire (not responding). I can't belive I paid money ($8.00). Why isn't Pro 2.1.3. like the old limewire? And another problem I'm having since "buying" Limewire Pro, whenever I start my computer the Limewire window opens, the one with the folders 'shared' and 'incomplete'. How do I stop this from happening? I am really not happy with this. Someone please help me or Iwant my money back. |

Make sure you are at the latest version of Limewire. I have experienced several different issues with other versions. I have downloaded the newest (free) version with XP, IE 6.0, 600 MHz, 640 MB Ram, 50 GB hard drive and I encounter zero problems with Limewire 2.2.2. Until now, I have had the same problems. |

Windows XP Here's a tidbit of info about windows XP (home or pro) it released with an issue with java. The only cure is to uninstall the version of java that limewire installed on your system ... the go to sun microsystems http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html and download the windos xp compatable java client. Be sure to unistall the version that limewire installed before installing the version that you download. On next limewire start it will say that it cant find javaw.exe and ask if you want to locate it yourself ... it will be in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.1\bin Enjoy. Bobo |

Thanks Ryan! I made this a sticky. Hopefully this will help solve some of these XP problems. Please let us know if this solution works/doesn't work. Avi Last edited by ajutagir; July 5th, 2002 at 12:39 PM. |

xp I have not had a problem with XP locking up after you start limewire. The only reoccuring problem I have is that if you go outside of limewire while it is running to explorer or IE, and type any key on your keyboard, it preforms an illegal operation and shuts down. |
