Problems connecting on university t1 lines

I know many universities including the one im at, UW LaCrosse run resnet. A few years ago there was no problem connecting to napster/kazaa to download mp3's but now it seems the routers used for resnet have a block on the ports commonly used with these programs. I don't know which ports these are but they seem to be the ones used with winmx, kazaa, imesh, morpheus, limewire, and every other p2p program ive tried. I downloaded an mp3 off launch.com at 350k/sec so I know the line is fine, but I can hardly ever connect to winmx, kazaa, or even know limewire - and when I do I download files at .05k/sec. I see that limewire has a spot you can enter a server and the port number (which I believe the resnet routers block). Does anyone know a server/port to connect to, to find mp3s? Or A way around the resnet router that is blocking these ports? This T1 is kind of worthless if I cant even download new songs --- thanks for your help.

I believe that blocking goes beyond ports and actually is being done at the protocol/packet level. They can restrict bandwidth as much as they want in a virtual Gnutella network.

Thanks
