how do i know what url, html, and mpg mean when i get search results?

HTML is the original web page mark up language. .html files will be web pages.

MPG is a video format. Also seen as MPEG. These files are video. AVI is another popular video format.

URL is a web address. e.g. "www.limewire.com" is a URL.
