Upload Window Autoclear can't keep up! Although I use AquaLime 2.5.5, I've experienced this on Clean LimeWire 2.5.3 as well. When everyone gets home from work, starts looking for specific files, and reports are sent that I am sharing said files, my Upload window becomes inundated with requests. Of course, I have only so many slots open, so 99.9% of all requests are denied - "Upload Limit Reached". However, the requests come in way much faster than the program can clear them out. Eventually, the computer's responsiveness slows to a crawl and eventually locks up. I could switch off the function. But then, how soon will the maximum capacity of this list window be exceeded? Now, I have some sort of inate problem with my system I've been trying to iron out for the past six months. But I believe the base LimeWire code (or probably Java runtimes) contribute significantly to the eventual lockup. I suppose one could look at it as an unintentional DoS, so perhaps the developers can devote some thought on how to have the UltraPeers protect Leaf inundation. Or whatever. Thanks. |
