2.7.13 Pro = 100% CPU Usage... What's up? Noticed an older thread down below with a similar problem... Is this widespread? When I ran 2.6.8 I was JUST fine.. I lost that file and paid for Pro again to renew my subcription, which is fine b/c I loved 2.6.8.. it worked perfectly.. but now 2.7.13 is just bunk. I'm running Windows XP Pro on a P3 1ghz w/ 512mb.. not a powerhouse, but has always run limewire without a hitch. I also uninstalled the version of Java that comes with Limewire and went to Sun's website to find a compatible Java version.. that keeps limewire from just crashing, but doesn't keep it from being a resource hog. Any help? This just sucks. |
I have the same problem, but since version 2.7.9. It is not always 100%, but most of the time I cannot run other software with LimeWire, it eats up all the resources. Also, after a day or two of running, the Search\Download window freezes. The Size, Status, Progress, Speed, Time columns don't get updated, they show the same info. If I add new downloads, their detials are empty. This is the same for the Connections\Connected Host, and Monitor\Upload. I can search, and add new searches, and the download is working as the files get updated in the Incomplete folder, if I look in that. Windows XP 2600 IE6 SP1 + MS Virtual Java Machine LimeWire 2.7.13 Supermicro 370SSa, PentiumIII 600, 256 MB, IBM 60 GB. |
anyone know where i can find 2.6.8? :o edit.. found a copy of 2.6.3 pro in a download directory I had.. installed that and it works GREAT again.. 2.7 is bunk.. i'll try 2.8 when it comes out of beta. |
