Uninstalling LimeWire

I am having a problem actually taking off LimeWire off of my system. With Windows XP, everytime that I try to uninstall it the programs goes to a maintenance screen. I then click on Remove all components but I just get sent to a screen that says Maintenance was successfully preformed and then it kicks me out of that part of the program and nothing has been uninstalled!

Is there a way to manually unistall the program or is there a solution to this problem?

Is there anyone who can help me out with this problem? I just want to get rid of the program and I can't!

Please help!!!

Sorry,

I have been trying to get rid of a WJ View error for several hours now with no success!. I am running Windows Xp and every time I restart I get "Could not execute Main. The system cannot find the file specified. Does anyone have a serious answer?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the exact nature of the problem, but I have found that the prolem is related to the java .class files which were installed by limewire.

If you have found an adequate solution to this problem, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! I also am having the same problem and have spent much time trying to eliminate this error.

Uninstall Limewire

I found a solution, however someone claimed it could cause other problems. My goal was to get rid of this relentless error (WJ VIEW error) that occured every time I re-booted. I went to c/windows/system32 and then I deleted WJ View error from there. The other problems this 3rd party claimed were with Java and specifically games which I never use. So far it worked. It's up to you if you want to try this. Good luck!

I also found that you can use the windows xp clean boot feature to solve many startup problems. Go to Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 310353. This is pretty good for solving many xp problems.

Try it sometime...

WJView Error: Could not execute Main:

I'd be willing to delete the WJView error file just to get rid of this problem. However, the only file I can find is a WJView.LGC file (there is a reference to limeshop in this file, but deleting it doesn't help). There are no WJView files in my c:/windows/system32 folder.

I've been trying to uninstall Limeshop, but when I click Add/Remove, I get the error message. I also get it every time I start up. I have deleted any reference to Lime*.* I can find on my computer.

I can't believe this should be so difficult to fix!

I frequently have to uninstall and re-install the limewire program. Never had a problem. Only suggestion I have is to uninstall like you would any other program, then do a search, and finally go back and make sure there is no file with that name in your Program Files. Make sure your search is searching for hidden files. I guess as a last resort if you definately definately are never going to use, and have Nortons Internet Security, treat the entire program as a virus and quarantine it.
