![]() I know I'm connected because I'm sharing files right now (thanks to help from Lee). ![]() I have two searches open for the last two songs on an album, the rest of which I have. My question: If I leave the searches open, will Limewire continue to search as time goes by, adding to the "hits" if my connections change or different people join the connection network? Or do I have to continually come in here and make a new search? I don't see any button that says "search again" so I'm not sure about what is going on. I just wonder if the search is refreshed occasionally or continually or not at all. I did read the FAQ but don't see the answer. ![]() Last edited by kathyathome; January 6th, 2003 at 05:46 PM. |

![]() Thanks Norm; unfortunately I've discovered I can't use Limewire anymore because the java program from Sun Systems required to use it with my Windows XP is not compatible with a web site I use for my work. Too bad, it's a great interface. ![]() |

![]() Mamiy is correct. If the version of Java you need for Limewire is interfering with your web operations - go to - Control Panel and open the Java that is causing trouble, select the browser tab, uncheck IE and Netscape. I am personally running two versions because of function issues with Limewire and newer Java versions. They are working together without a hitch. FYI, with Limewire the version of Java I have had the most success with is 1_3.1_04 Good Luck, Norm |

![]() I didn't realize I could disable the java program for certain functions in control panel. I'll do some experimenting around and see if I can configure things in order to use it for limewire. The site that it isn't compatible with has a "java applet" that you have to install once, it's a storage facility where I put large wav files, later to be retrieved by my subcontractors for transcription. When I had the sun java from limewire it would automatically open instead of this other thing I needed at the storage site, creating inability to upload to the site. So if I disable sun java in the control panel from activating while I'm using my browser (IE), that will take care of this problem? I'll give it a try anyway. I assume after re-installing the java I will see "java" in the control panel choices? I don't see any java now there, just the usual "add/remove programs", "mouse", etc. etc. Or do I go to one of these things I already have and look within it for java? |

![]() Yes, the java icon will show up in control panel after you reinstall it. Just double click on it to open. That will bring up a screen with several tabs at the top. Select "browser" and you can disable it from running in IE. That should solve your problem. Let me know how you make out. Norm |
