Browser problems for downloading

I am unable to upgrade my version of LiveWire, due to either a browser plug in or something else. I have upgraded my Internet Explorer and my quicktime. I have AOL and when I try to download it takes me to a screen and tells me that my browser plug in is not there. When I try to download it via explorer, it stays on the same page(refresshes the page), the one where you choose your computer. Please email me back and let me know what is wrong.
