Default Speakers don't work post download

Help! I've just installed Limewire and my speakers no longer work. I have made no other changes to my system. I am running XP Professional on an HP Pavillion Laptop

REINSTALL YOUR SOUND CARD PROGRAM SOMETIMES A NEW DOWNLOAD CAN TURN THE SOUND CARDS SETTING OFF OR CHANGE THEM TO SUCH A LOW MODE THAT YOU CAN NOT HEAR THEM

I got a similar problem, eventhough my speakers do work, since I installed the limewire all the voice chat in yahoo messenger stopped woking.. Does anybody suffered the same problem?
