Windows XP Pro - MAJOR crash! Hi people! 'been using LimeWire Pro 2.9.11 for about a week now and have a BIG problem with UltraPeer designation - if I'm a UltraPeer for more than about 30 minutes LimeWire crashes Windows XP big-time - no errors, just a straight reset back to BIOS - anyone else suffering from this? It's pretty solid if I disable UltraPeer though - shame 'cause I'm on 512kbs Cable and it'd be nice to contribute :) |
I've had a similar problem since upgrading from 2.8 to any of the 2.9 releases; spontaneous reboots after 5-15 minutes. Can't read the "STOP" message on the blue screen but the event viewer reports it as: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x00000064, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xbfebd6b5). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: G:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini052503-04.dmp. It started happening right after the my first upgrade to 2.9. No other software changes on the computer. Since then, I've updated Win2K & the Java stuff with no luck. Any thoughts anyone? Thanks, Mike |
Well, as I said it seems to fix it for me if I "Disable Ultrapeer Capabilites" under "Speed" in the options - when I was intially running 2.9.11 it set me up as a "Leaf" node but then switched me to an Ultrapeer and that's when all the crashes started... |
I have LimeWire 2.9.11 Pro installed and have not had any problems in Leaf mode or Ultrapeer. I am using WIndows XP Pro. Could you put your dump file (*.dmp) somewhere so we could see it? Thanks, /*Raj*/ |
I've checked but no dump file is written - When it crashes it's like someone has pressed a reset button - *ping* - straight back to BIOS... I checked that the memory dumping and error reporting options are enabled but nothing - nothing in the event log either... |
When I crash in win2k I get the following debug report in the event viewer: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0100005a, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80064cb9). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: G:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini052503-02.dmp. I'm not sure whate program to view the minidump with, but notepad doesn't show much. But the bugcheck reports are pretty consistant. |
