Lightbulb Stability Issue Fix?

I'm finding this problem when running LimeWire 1.5 on a Win 98 SE machine (after, of course, having fixed the shortcut launching bug, which has already been discussed thoroughly here and should be referred to before continuing with this tweak): The program will spontaneously close or shut down without any distinguishable cause or reason, whether running in the foreground or background, searching, or not searching. However, I have found a tweak that improves the overall stability of the program on my system. *WARNING: Try this at your own risk only!* Open the Windows control panel. Double click on the icon that says "Java Plug-in 1.3.1" and wait for the windows to open. When it pops up, you will see the tab "Advanced" at the top. Go to that tab. If the "Java Runtime Environment" says "Use Java Plug-in Default", change it to "JRE 1.3.1 in C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1" and then uncheck the box that says "Enable Just In TIme Compiler" if it is not already unchecked. Click apply and then close the window. Try launching LimeWire again, and see if that improves its stability. If anyone tries this on their own machine, please reply and let us all know if it worked or not (work being a relative term). Be sure to specify what operating system is and all that fun stuff. Good Luck Everyone! :-)

When you run the shortcut to limewire, and the "Searching for javaw.exe" Window comes up, quickly hit browse, then go to your WINDOWS folder (C:\Windows) and select javaw.exe. Now your Limewire 1.5 should work, enjoy

About that download acc. fix bug thing, does that actually work?
Because if does, you should put it in a new thread and demand that it be stuck.

Talking fix for javaw

A missing javaw file means that either there isn't a jre on your system or it isn't in your path environment variable.

If you have a jre, there should be a javaw.exe file somewhere on your hard disk. You can change limewire's shortuct to say "c:\jdk1.3\bin\javaw" (or wherever that file is located) instead of c:\windows\javaw" and that should work.

If you don't have a javaw.exe anywhere, that means that you don't have the jre since limewire didn't install it. To get it, go to java.sun.com and download the jdk1.3.1.
After you do this you can follow the step above.

Exclamation Windows Me problem

Well I did that fix where you quickly hit browse and select the javaw.exe file. But that only worked a couple of times. Now when I double click on Limewire, nothing happens. NOTHING, just sits there, I don't even get hard drive activity. Anyone know what's up?

Talking How I got it to work

I fixed it by just reinstalling Limewire v1.4 and now it works again!
I didn't have to delete anything or change my windows configurations.

Have you peeps heard of KaZaa Media Desktop?
It's a great program and it's easy to use like Napster.

Check it out for yourselves...
