Kirby and Christopher....
YOU GUYS ARE STUDS!
I was getting booted from LimeWire every 5 minutes like everyone else on this thread. I took your advice and uninstalled BearShare...then went into Add/Delete programs in Windows Control Panel and deleted the NEWDOTNET program. Been running Limewire for 30 minutes now...NO MORE ERROR MESSAGES. I didnt even have to use ad-aware...but thanx for that info too.thanx again.

Cool

Kirby,

Don't care what others say, your suggestion worked for me!

Remove the adware (especially the one installed by bearshare, and limewire works perfectly....

Thanks again!

Kirby! I was the one that said spyware (if indeed that's what it was) had nothing to do with it and boy is my face red! My version of Ad-Aware didn't detect it, but sure as hell, there it was. After removing it through the control panel, LimeWire works fine now.

I don't recall installing this program! Where did it come from?

My most sincere and humble apologies to you, Kirby - and thanks!

It probably got installed secretly by some other program's installation.

Talking illegal operation

Praise Be To Allah!!!!!!

At first Limewire worked great, but an error message "limewire has caused an illegal...." popped up every time I closed it. Then it happened after about 1 minute of being logged on. I used Kirby's idea about deleting the new.net using ad-aware.

I've been logged on for about an hour now with no probs.

Kirby, I don't know how you came up with your solution, but thanks for the info.

Default "Limewire has caused an illegal...."

Kirby - I took your advice and used the "Add/Delete Programs" function to delete the "NEW.NET.APPLICATIONS" --- now Limewire operates perfactly. Thanks very much for the advice!!
