Automatic Startup?!? I'm just a little upset. I downloaded version 3.4.5, and when it installed, I find it comes on automatically whenever I start my computer. This is not what I had intended, as I am only an occasional user, and don't want to be connected all the time. Most programs prompt you to decide if you want to have them start up when you start the computer. Some even give you the option to remove this feature later if you so choose, but not Limewire. OK enough ranting, what I need to know is, does anyone know how to remove Limewire from the autostart list? Any help would be appreciated. |

OK, so what do I do if the allusers thing doesn't work? There isn't a Limewire shortcut in any startup menu on my machine. I'm almost ready to remove Limewire from my computer altogether, because I don't want it popping up every time I turn the computer on. I would really appreciate it if anyone had any more information about how to fix this problem. BTW, I am running Windows ME. |

I'm not quite sure what brought on the hostile attitude ... but I just tested downloading LimeWire from the website and installing it, and nothing was placed in my startup folder. We definitely didn't put it anywhere else, so I don't quite know what the problem could be. Regarding annotation -- I had said that there is simply no way, with the current use of ID3v1 tags, a year could take more than 4 characters. The old inclusion of more than 4 characters was a bug. If we decide to incorporate ID3v2 tags, we can include more characters, but that is not something as simple as flipping a switch. I unfortunately haven't had the chance to limit input of the year to 4 characters yet. Sorry I can't help more. |

Wasn't me? So along with the "No new post in 1000 days" glitch at the bottom of the forum it now adds profanity too? Interesting, now I see why Limewire chose this forum program Understand the tag situation, however, why is the annotation so buggy? I enter more complete information and hit enter and it ignores the changes. I have to do it two to three times to get it to stick. Also, could you come up with a sticky "how to upgrade Limewire" with the proper procedure as it seems that many of the problems experience seem to be only experienced by the users of Limewire. Every time YOU try it it works fine, so obviously we are doing something wrong. Cheers, Ned |
