Visual C++ Runtime Error in iexplore.exe I have a windows 2000 PC and I just installed Limewire 3.5.8 (the installation told me that I had not installed the java runtime environment, so I automatically downloaded the Java 2 runtime environment 1.3.1_04). Whenever I go to a webpage that is constantly updated (like gamecenter on nfl.com) my web browser crashes and gives me the error "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE abnormal termination error" I reinstalled IE6, I uninstalled limewire and limeshop, I reinstalled the latest windows service pack, I downloaded SpyBot and removed all spyware, I uninstalled internet explorer and reinstalled it via windows update, and finally I tried reinstalling windows 2000 over the current version and none of that worked. I have two partitions on my system (one for the OS, and one for my files) I got rid of the problem by formatting my C: partition and reinstalling Windows 2000 from scratch. When I got my system up and running I tried installing limewire again and I now I have the exact same problem. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem without having to competely format my harddrive?? |
