Exclamation NEWDOTNET.dll Win illegal operation fix!

--
This idea has now been confirmed...
This is for the illegal operation when LimeWire causes an invalid page fault in NEWDOTNET2_109.dll. (Mainly on Win ME, I haven't seen on other OS', but it would work there, too.)
Newdotnet, or new.net, rather, is a spyware program installed by Bearshare, and lots of others, as it is quite popular. To get rid of it safely, including the dll, get ad-aware. Some thing that isn't there can't cause problems. As an added bonus, you'll get all the other spyware on your system off, too.
Also, this will work on most of the illegal operations, not just the NEWDOTNET2_109.dll one.

P.S.=It will take two passes on ad-aware to get all the components off.

Kirby and Christopher....
YOU GUYS ARE STUDS!
I was getting booted from LimeWire every 5 minutes like everyone else on this thread. I took your advice and uninstalled BearShare...then went into Add/Delete programs in Windows Control Panel and deleted the NEWDOTNET program. Been running Limewire for 30 minutes now...NO MORE ERROR MESSAGES. I didnt even have to use ad-aware...but thanx for that info too.thanx again.

Cool Thanks!

Thanks so much for your post! After uninstalling new.net and then running ad-aware, we're no longer having problems with invalid page fault errors.

After removing it via ad-aware it said my winsock2 connection had been restored and I was connected again and Limewire stays up now. This file was also affecting Napster as well. </b>

Question worldnet.att and adaware?

hi there!

i was having this problem with new.net as well and limewire has been crashing. i would like to install and run adaware and remove any additional spyware programs but am afraid this will kill my internet connection. right now at & t worldnet's $7/month program comes with some built in tracking software.

i would like to remove additional software while leaving the required components in place. has anyone else tried to do this so far?

the errors i have been getting include:

"limewire has caused an error in JAVAI.DLL"
"explorer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL"
"wnconnect has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL"
"wnconnect has caused an error in MFC42.DLL"

plus a bunch of

"limeire has caused an error in <unknown>" and limewire crashes.

thanks for any assistance! i am currently running Windows ME and limewire 1.4.

I was suggesting ad-aware as it also got all the other spyware off. In your case, you should use Windows add/remove instead.
