Thanks for everything. there was no reply from support staff, but your suggestions with ad-aware and then your posting the only site from which I could download limewire again were perfect solutions. i hope they contact you and offer you large money.

SOMETIMES I THINK I'M A REAL DUMMY !! WHILE CRUISING AROUND ZDNET, I FOUND OUT THAT I WAS RUNNING A OUTDATED VER OF AD AWARE.. I DOWNLOADED AND RAN VER 5.5 AND WAH LA,,,
PROBLEM FIXED (5.5 FOUND 22 MORE SPYWARE FILES THAN 4.6)

I ALSO WENT UP TO LIMEWIRE 1.6 AND LIKE IT....

ok... it sounds like everyone has got their problem solved but me. I'm using LimeWire v1.6, I've run and deleted all ad ware stuff with ad-aware 5.5, but I still can't get a connection!

I used to use BearShare v2.2.4 with no problem. I upgraded to BS v2.2.6, then LimeWire 1.6, and neither one works! What went wrong? Help!!! Thanks.

I don't have newdotnet, and limewire still crashes on me. I tried this adware thing, and it didn't do anything. Can someone help me out?

Ad-Ware did the trick two passes and the illegal op message did not return. It turns out tha t the program "comet Cursor was rhe culprit and had embedded some 137 spies. Upon removal everthing went fine.

I found 150 spy thingys. I think thats a little bad and sad.

One more thing. Why does lime wire have to be purple?!?!? I HATE PURPLE!!
