Installation
 

I tried all weekend to install v1.6 on my computer . I have Windows ME, and I keep getting hung up as soon as i start installing the software. It reads
"limwire is now starting to install, May take a few minutes", It stayed at that screen all weekend. I cant seen to get over that hump, any suggestions?? Thanks

I get as far as the J2 Runtime environment installation and then poof - nothing.

Is anyone going to answer this thread????

I had the same problem as you guys.
Go to
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/
and download the installer for the java2 runtime.
run it, and after try the LimeWire Installer.
I work perfectly after.!

Thank you WingsWeb! This solution worked beautifully for me, having encountered the same difficulty installing 1.6 as the initiator of the thread. BTW, a cursory survey of other threads reveals that this seems to be a fairly widespread issue for ME (and other?) installers.

yeah, here here - going to the java site and installing their runtime enviro installer first (with reboot) solved the problemo!
