![]() Hi I wondered if you are aware of any problems with the Windows Update Site and LimeWire 1.6b. I recently upgraded to 1.6b on my W2K Pro machine. Since then, I have not been able to install updates from www.winowsupdate.microsoft.com . I wondered if this was related to the new Java runtime environment that installed as part of the installation. I have also noticed that installing the new version of LimeWire registers two ActiveX controls (Java Runtime Environment 1.3.1) in the C:\Winnt\Downloaded Program Files folders. Both show as damaged, but don't appear to effect the running of LimeWire. Can you confirm if this might be a problem. Thanks Adam Kassell |

![]() We are not aware of any conflicts with Microsoft Updates. I have seen some documentation on Sun's web site regarding the files that you mentioned were listed as damaged, and they say that they are not a problem. I don't remember precisely where the Sun documentation is, but it is available in the JRE installation documentation at www.java.sun.com. This is, however, the result of the Sun's own installer that LimeWire launches, so we are not as intimately familiar with their setup. There are no conflicts that I am aware of, however. |
