iTunes and Windows I use windows XP pro. My media player is iTunes. I have just started to use Limewire. It rocks! My daughter uses Mac and when she downloads from Limewire the tunes automatically end up in her iTunes library. It even opens her iTunes program for her. I am using my iTunes music folder as the target to save my downloads to. They do appear. But they do not automatically appear in my Library when I open the iTunes player. I have to do a manual "add file to library" Can anyone help me? |
Lol, xcuse me, but the auto feature is only available for mac at present. For pc there could be quite a wait. :D It certainly is very efficient with mac. And the new betas have xtra iTunes support for mac so they can play their playlist on any LAN they're connected to using DAAP; ie: the playlist would be available to your iTunes. |
Thank You I am new to bulletin boards, but I would suppose common courtesy applies anywhere. So I will say thank you for the info. |
We occasionally get thank yous, but when we do, we greatly appreciate them. Cheers! |

I didn't realise it was available in the non-beta versions! Sorry! Oh but I did read somewhere it was available for pc or crossing to pc versions depending on the version of iTunes. I think I read it at the Apple site. I DID forget to mention that!!! Thank you. |
No No No :) It's at the moment only available in the LimeWire betas but it works with any computer. Mac OS X, Windows and Linux are tested so far but it should also work with Solaris, *BSD and all the other Java 1.4 compatible systems. Since iTunes is only available for Mac and Windows you need at least one of these two systems to access the shared library but the library could run on -- lemme see - a HP-UX box (hope it's exotic enough :) ) |
