Suddenly unable to launch Limewire.

Hello.. I'm suddenly having a problem with opening limewire. When i run the application it won't start up, it just sits there doing nothing. I've tried re-installing and totally removing everything but it still won't start up. Anyone have any other suggestions as to what I could do?

I'm getting the same problem. I even tried other programs like kazaa and they don't connect either. It happened to my roomate first though. My computer worked fine for kazaa and limewire but he couldn't connect. Now I can't either. I'm thinking it may be some new worm/virus release by some riaa fanatic.

Try deleting your LW preferences folder: Windows: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire It will mean you'll need to do your settings again though. If that doesn't help do this test: When LW is open, click Tools->Options & go to Bug report & click for an example. In the window that appears scroll down to the part that says: "Recieved incoming this session". If it says ‘True’ then LW has no problem with firewalls, but if 'False' it does have a prob. See this link for image example.

Well if deleting the .limewire folder didn't fix the problem which is found here:
Windows 98 / ME: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents"
Windows NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\Documents and Settings\Username"
Description here: Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

Then try uninstalling Java & re-installing it. Downld the Java installer & save it to your computer before installing. Don't install over the net. You can find a Java link from the link above.
