Default LimeWire closes when attempting to play videos

Im using 5.1.4 with the most updated JAVA and still limewire closes on me when I attempt to play a video. NOTE: It closes on multiple videos that are in a variety of formats, mpeg, avi, ect.

Any suggestions?

Which player do you have set as your default for video? WMP has issues with LW 5.

If you have other players installed, try making one of them your default video player. Or you can try VLC player as described in the thread below

Open a folder that has video files in it (not within LW - open a folder outside of LW). Right click on a video file > open with > choose program. Choose another player from the list > tick the box to always use that player to open that file type > ok. Do that for all video file types that you want to associate with another program.

If you have probs with any of the file types playing through a different player, you might need to change WMP's file associations.
Within WMP go tools > options > file types > untick the formats that you don't want WMP to play > apply > ok.

You mean WMP?

Sorry, I don't know - I'm not a developer.

There've been problems with WMP for a while & then best that we can do is suggest that people use another player for now.
