Lime wire will not stay running
 

Hey, my lime wire will sometime start up and connect and work for about half an hour then i will get an error reprot and it says to send an error report, it keeps telling me it has to do with java but ive reinstalled different versions of jave and limewire several times and it still does this, sometimes it doesnt even make it past startup before i get an error. can anybody help me??:(

Which installer did you use to install LW? The english installer is better b/c it uses whichever version of Java is on your computer. Whereas if you installed the international installer, it will force LW to use Java 1.3 1. It might be an idea to uninstall LW using your Add/Remove control panel. 2. Update your installshield install engine. 3. Install Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link)
4. Try dwnlding & installing LW again. A new minor update version 4.2.4 has just been released which fixes some problems: Choose (English Only): http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...loadfree.shtml

Yeah ot still doesnt work, i still get my error reprt just nto while limewire is starting up, it starts up now but you cant ru the program for more than 2 min, ive tried everything. i scanned my comp for virus's with norton and it says i have nothing, ive reinstalled windows, and everythingthing else i could think of i dont understand it. my opperating system is xp pro with service pack 2, if any one can help it would be appreciated

So why did you install SP2? You don't need it & it reduces your computers connectivity. It was designed for big companies with major networks. Not for individual users at home. Try uninstalling SP2.

Hey i uninstalled sp2 and tried to reinstall everything and limewire got the error report thing before it even started up, so i tried uninstalling and reinstallin again and still nothing, with sp2 limewire starts up and runs for a few min before i get the error:confused:

now that i think of it my limewire has only been doing this since i had a new motherboard put in, if that will help?, also tried java 5 and my limewire starts to load then just disapeers

does any one have an idea whatas going on, or can any one recomend another good file sharing program:(
