Why always #11? Why is it when I search for media, there is always a 11 servers available, regardless of what I'm searching for? A screen capture to illustrate: www.geocities.com/noltez2/scrncap.jpg If it bounces, go to geocities.com/noltez2 first, then manually type in the .jpg name. Any guesses? |
Correction: www.geocities.com/noltez2/Scrncap.jpg Sorry, it's case sensitive. Please help if you can. www.geocities.com/noltez2, right click: save picture is a backup. |
That's a tough one! I'd suggest it'd have to do who you're connected thru & the common connections they have. Particularly if you did a direct connect upon them. They share the same no. of certain files but I'[m sure if your browsed all of them you'd find they had different files. I'm sure another member/mod will have a better explanation. I have come across not too disimilar results for certain artists. 'Perhaps' because they're the most popular files. By the type of results (same connection type) it'd tend to suggest a browse or direct connect., right? If that be the case & even if it's not, I wouldn't be too worried. I don't know whay it should be 11 though. Perhaps coincidence. Or perhaps as I suggested earlier similar tastes with similar choices. And the ones you're most easily connected thru. Particularly with your upld & dwnld habit. |
NOT a coincidence! This is definitely not a coincidence! If you guys can tell me how to capture a screen because i have the exact same problem! I've just weathered it out, but hey its here so i might as well ask! 2 out of X-million...anyone else?...lol |
I've been wondering this myself recently. It looks like there's a limit on results displayed for some kinds of searches. Try the What's new" search to see those "11 hosts" results. btw--do another search using the keywords from the "11" results: lots more often show up. |
When LimeWire returns search results, it returns a list of other people that have the file. It caps this list at 10 on each response it returns. So 10 others + the replier == 11 hosts. |
thanks for the clarification Is an immediate new search using the keywords reasonable? I wondered if it were redundant and just wastes bandwidth. |
wait, so if the cap is 11, why are there files at 40 downloads? or 200? Or any other higher-than-11? |
