Question Question

when you download a file, it saves to the library, is there anyway i can save those files to my computer, so that if anything happened, and they were deleted from the library, they would be on my computer, i know if i delete from the library i can't play them again,

sorry if this has already been asked, but i have looked about the forum before i posted this, and sorry if i havn't explained this clear enough.

The files are already 'saved' to your computer...

It is simply a matter of Moving or Copying the desired files to a more 'secure' folder on your machine... Or, indeed, copy them to a CD...

Both of the above are basic things to do to protect your files.

right, i'll make this clearer, if i d/l something, do i have to keep it in the library in order to play it in the future, or can i not just save it somewhere else, and delete it from the library?

anyone?

You should always move or copy your files to a 'secure' directory/folder...

Those files that you DownLoad are not necessarily going to be the same files that you will want to be sharing... And, you should check all files for quality and correct 'tagging' BEFORE you share them, anyway !

If you have enough Hard Disc Drive space available, it is a very good idea to have a Music Bank folder (or whatever name you like)...
and
Possibly a separate folder where you move the files you wish to play or set aside for burning or...
and
A separate folder(s) only for those files that you wish to share.

Once you set-up a system for holding the new files before checking them for sharing and the folders for 'playing' and 'storing', you will have far fewer 'disasters'...

We have ALL deleted things we never wanted to lose !!!
Setting up a good folder system won't prevent unintentional deletes, but it will sure help to reduce those little heart-stopping moments !!!

There, now that was way more words than you wanted from me !

but i can't send them to a 'secure' folder, when the only secure folder i have is the 'save files folder' in the library, when i delete something from here it doesn't play, even though ive saved them in my documents,

eg. i download a song, it automatically goes to shared and saved folder, if i delete it from 'saved' that's it, i can't play it anymore, or do i have to keep files in the saved part.

to get the music i download into my documents, i enqueue them all, then save them in my documents, cause i don't know any other way, is this the right way?

do you understand what my question is? im sorry if i'm confusing you
