Default This app has great potential but the problems are off the map...

I have been fighting with Limewire all day long. I was using version 4.2 and I upgraded to Jave 5. I disabled ultrapeer. I have had to reboot every five or ten minutes all day. I've tried everything I can think of.
My machine is a P-4 2.8ghz with 768mb of RAM. Everything else runs fine as long as Limewire isn't installed. I'd be willing to give it another try if anyone has any ideas. Maybe it's something I downloaded through it. I have run an updated virusscan, AdAware, Spybot S&D, and checked it with Hijackthis.
I can't figure it out. I'm just thinking maybe it's buggy software.

I had to delete Java JRE 5 also. I don't know but maybe that was the problem. I am also running SP2.

I'm still open to ideas.

Limewire eats memory. Your p.c. needs to be in good health to support Limewire. A p.c. with JRE5 installed is, I believe, prone to problems. See the thread started by memski on this page. Similarly, I would recommend you to use J2RE 1.4.2 as an alternative. But stick with Limewire. It's well worth the effort.
