Default Cancel Membership

I hate to admit it, but I am not happy with LimeWire. I want to cancel my membership. These sites make it very, very easy to signup, but hard as hell to cancel.

Could someone please direct me to where I can go to cancel my membership.

Thank you.

Default Scammed?

Again, it seems that another person, in this case "miller49", has been scammed.

If he (or she) paid for this mysterious (non-existent) membership and then was directed to download freebie LimeWire (not Pro) then he or she has been scammed.

There is this old saying, well over a hundred years old, which was told to someone by the owner of a gambling den during the time of the Alaskan gold rush. The den owner was asked why he didn’t go out looking for gold like all the other prospectors.
The den owner replied, “there’s gold in a fools pocket, there’s lots of it and its easier to get”.

The scammers see internet users, particularly new internet users, as fools with gold lined pockets. Unless user become more careful and stop throwing their money at every flashy advert they see these scam artists will not only continue with their "nothing for your money" adverts they will dominate the internet.

I know now that I have been scammed. They made that site look so legitimate. The site's address is:http://www.top-rated-mp3-sites.com/limitedtime.html.

Please go there and come back and tell me what you think. Wouldn't you be fooled, especially if you were new to downloading music.

I've learned my lesson. I have been given legitimate sites as C-Net to go to for Music Sharing Programs.

Thanks you for your info.

Default Scam Site

Sorry miller49,

The scam site is gone, your URL just leads to the hosting company.

Next time you buy something online, especially if you are using that company for the first time, make sure that what you buy does not cost more than $10.00 (US) or £5.00 (UK).

If your order is speedily fulfilled then you know you are dealing with a proper company. If not then you have not lost much.

Default Very Clever Scam Site

Dear miller49

I can see how you were taken in, the site is very clever and well made. With sites like these around the uninitiated stand no real chance.

All I can say is you got caught this time but now, that you have been ripped off, you will not get caught like this again.

Put it down to one of life's experiences.

Thank you UK Bob. I just read your post. Very well said.

I want to thank you for all your help.

Now I only go to websites that have well known name brand products.

Oh man, talk about clever: there's just too many text on the home page. This is probably to make people have second thoughts about carefully reading all the text in order to find if something is fishy or not.

Murasame

Reading the text will not let you know whether something is fishy, the problem is that it seems to offer just what the unsuspecting want and that is access to an unlimited number of MP3s.

The only real way for the unwary to know that these are rip off adverts is when you are actually ripped off. Unlike new users, most internet users know that these adverts are too good to be true and avoid them like the plague. I even put their URLs in my firewall's block list.

And that is the lesson: avoid anything that is too good to be true.
