help plz! lw wont let me connect, even after i d/l the new setup and install

my lw for some reason when o try to connect it, it does the upgrade pop-upand when i click that, theres an error window under neath it that says theres a corrupt file. so i uninstalled and then reinstalled the same version again( i keep all setup files so i dont have to d/l them again if the progm crashes, since im on 56K that would take forever) but anyhow, back on subject, i restarted and all that and the same thing happened. so i went to the lw homepage, and installed 4.2.6 setup and tried that, and the same thing happens.. i have to start on logon, and it works fine, except when i click on the sy tray to see whats d/l or to try to d/l new files, the error shows back up. any one know why it is all of a sudden acting in this strange bway? oh i did a system restore to a few weeks ago, before it happened, and the box popped up, tho i think thats b/c i uninstalled it, but not entirely sure. any help would be greatly appreciated so much. it makes me so mad tho, i was in the middle of d/l family guy christmas, and it stopped working properly... thanx to all who help in advance

Not sure of your problem but I can recomend you update your Java: Java 1.4.2 (click on link) If you still have problems after the java update post back to this thread.

Does the error message say there's a corrupt file or that you can't connect probably due to a firewall?

Are you running and form of antivirus?
Ive seen these results from viruses corrupting files! I personally recomend the free AVG antivirus.
