need help I am totally new to all this and am not understanding the different formats for the files. I am particularly looking at the movies section. I d/l'd one that was bad first of all, are there alot that are like that? Seems a waste of time to wait all that time to have it not work. Or is it just something that I may be doing wrong? Thanks!! |
What do you mean it was bad. You couldn't play it or the quality was poor or it wasn't what you were after? Make sure you have lots of codecs: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html & even downld xtra players like divx player & vlc (is free & has in-built codecs & plays everything except the odd wmv file.): http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose the nearest mirror site.) Are you just going to watch them on your computer or connect your comp to a tv or burn to cd or dvd? The larger the file size the better. 500+ MB is the recommended size for a decent movie. And avi, mpg/mpeg, avi-divx are the best formats to aim for. |
It wouldn't play. It said that there was an error and it was a bad file. Ok, I think I understand a little better now, thanks. I want to burn them to dvd's, so is there anything special that I should know or be doing? Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it! |
Well, with some burner apps they will do any necessary conversion for you after you drop the file into the app. But for others it's not so easy. An app like tmgp or something is worthy of having. Visit these sites, they have forums of their own & also have up to date info on which apps to use. 1. http://www.videohelp.com/ 2. http://www.videohelp.com/tools 3. http://forum.dvd-guides.com/ |
