Limewire won't see Java and wont open
 

When I go to open Limewire, a box comes up and says
"Limewire Launcher Error
Limewire was unable to load the Java Runtime Enviroment
Please Download and install a newer version from http://www.java.com"

I went to java.com and downloaded Java 2 Runtime Enviroment, SE v1.4.2_06, but the same message keeps coming up.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen this problem before on the forum but can't remember what the answer was: other posts. Which version of LW are you installing? LW 4.4 has just been released & it will be a better version to use than LW 4.2 which had some bugs. Try installing Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

I got it to work... I installed the newest Limewire, and it didn't help, but then i uninstalled all my versions of Java (There were about 3), and re-installed it, and then Limewire opened fine. So I'm not sure what was wrong.. but i appreciate the help.
