Default Problems With CPU Usage..

Hey i don't really run alot of stuff in my background, and everytime i open limewire up for some reason my comp grinds to a f*** hault..

i have a memory optimizer, which i really just use for seeing my memory usage rather than going through ctrl+alt+dlt, and it says it drops my memory free to like 5-15 instead of the normal 65+..

I have windows xp sp2 with all the current updates installed...

And i'm a limewire pro user..so it'd be really nice to get it fixed asap?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:

1. What firewalls you have?
2. How much ram?
3. HDD space available?
4. Connection type?
5. LW version & version of Java?
6. How many incomplete & shared files you have?
7. Do you use the Resume button to continue all your downlds?

I seem to be having the same problem but for me, while using Winamp, my audio hesitates from time to time. It only started doing this when I upgraded to the new 1.5 Java. I downgraded back to 1.42.07 and everything seems to be fine.

I'm running LW 4.4.5. It seems that when running the new java 1.5, Limewire takes up about 20 more megabytes. What's up with that?

I would advise falling back to 1.42 even if LW says to upgrade your java.

Weird.

My stats:

Win XP PRO SP 2.0
P4 2.68Ghz
523M
80Gb+ free
