![]() I just installed LimeWire today, and all appears to be working great, however, when I exit the program I get the error that "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor". Since I'm exiting the program anyway, it's just a pet peeve, but thought I should bring it to your attention. I'm operating on Windows 98. I tried reinstalling the program, but still get the same error upon exiting the program. The details are as follows: LIMEWIRE caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff7b992. Registers: EAX=02b1b90d CS=017f EIP=bff7b992 EFLGS=00010206 EBX=0313f044 SS=0187 ESP=04fdfa40 EBP=0080d1ec ECX=0313f028 DS=0187 ESI=0313f044 FS=475f EDX=0080d1e0 ES=0187 EDI=024a1ab0 GS=33f6 Bytes at CS:EIP: 80 3e 04 74 0f 33 c0 50 50 50 68 05 00 00 c0 e8 Stack dump: 0313f028 02b1be52 0313f044 024a1ab0 0313f028 008087c0 02b1b91f 008087c0 76003481 04fdfa6c 0080d1e0 008087c0 7600265e 00000000 0080d1e0 0080d180 |

![]() I have a problem when upon shutting down Limewire, I get the following error: _____________________________________ LIMEWIRE caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff7b9a6. Registers: EAX=00000000 CS=017f EIP=bff7b9a6 EFLGS=00000246 EBX=00811d30 SS=0187 ESP=04abfa4c EBP=00806d9c ECX=04abfa6c DS=0187 ESI=02c3d5e8 FS=4f0f EDX=00806d90 ES=0187 EDI=024a2b08 GS=1366 Bytes at CS:EIP: ff 76 04 e8 13 89 ff ff 5e c2 04 00 56 8b 74 24 Stack dump: 02c3d5e8 02c16d4b 02c3d5e8 024a2b08 00811d30 76003481 04abfa6c 00806d90 00811d30 7600265e 00000000 00806d90 00806d30 00806d3c 76003283 00806d30 _____________________________________ Limewire functions smoothly though, and ugrading to v1.4 hasn't helped either. Is this a winsock related program because i have Netsonic Pro 3.0 and AdSub running in the background and i think their installation might have messed with the winsock files, but i can't be really sure. I'm running Win98SE, on a 128MB 450Mhz PIII system. BearShare and Gnotella both don't have this problem. Help! |

![]() I get a message when I exit saying "Limewire has caused an error in WEBHDLL.DLL Limewire will now close" Fine by me.. I wanted it to close anyway.. still, kinda strange. I'm guessing I get a different error message than the rest of you because I'm using WinME? |

![]() I just wanted to let everyone know that we are aware of these issues and are working hard to solve them. We will be releasing LimeWire 1.4c sometime next week, and it will include a new version of the Java 2 Runtime Environment that we hope will clear up some of these problems and that should speed LimeWire's performance significantly. Please note, however, that the next version of LimeWire will be a maintenance release. This means that will will probably choose not to notify you on startup that a new version is available -- the update pattern that we have been following for any release with a letter at the end (as in LimeWire1.4c). So, to update to the new version, you will have to visit our web site on your own. If you long for the new version, I would recommend visiting our web site by the end of next week to see if it is available. LimeWire 1.4c will also include the option to reduce the program to the system tray on Windows. Thanks to everyone for pointing out these bugs. |
