Search still doesn't work.

Hi I hope someone can help me out with this.
My search doesn't work at all people can download from me and I can browse their files and download from them. But I cannot get any results from my searchs.

Windows xp home with sp2
LimeWire PRO 4.8.0
2.80ghz

I use nortons personal firewall 2004

any ideas would be great i've been trying to figure this out for over a week.

Do you have both the Norton Firewall and Windows Firewall enabled. Did you configure them for TCP and UDP access for LimeWire.

But it is probably your ISP blocking/filtering ---- Insight

I read your previous posts.

Easiest way to figure out if LW is blocked: open LW, go to the Options (it's under Tools) and the click Bug Reports.
Click the Bug Rep button then scroll down to the part where it says: "Recieved incoming this session"
If it says true then you're a-ok.
False on the other hand is another story.

Hi Murasame.Recieved incoming this session=true

But I noticed that unset_Firewalled_from_Connect_Back=true.
So does that meen my fir wall is blocking limewire?I have my windows firewall disabled and I have my nortons firewall up.
But limewire is allowed acces from all ports.

These are 'identical' symptoms of Insight users. They've been coming to the forum in droves over the past month or so. Is your ISP provider Insight or someone else?

Glorfindel March 9th, 2005 04:29 PM

Hey Lord of the rings!

You helped me before my isp is insight.I guess I'm screwed for now.Insight is the only broadband in my area for now.Just out of zoomtowns service range.

Lord of the Rings March 9th, 2005 04:31 PM

Another option is A Fix for those whose ISP's block Limewire which is using proxies. But that could be pain. NeOterics explanation is not the clearest but.

Glorfindel March 9th, 2005 04:51 PM

Yeah I read his post on proxies before

I don't reeally know anything about them so I guess I'll do a google search on configuring proxies and learn how to do it.

Lord of the Rings March 9th, 2005 05:03 PM

Likewise I don't know any more than is in that post. It can be understood if you read above the way it's written lol. If you do work it out can you post back to let us know how you did it so others can benefit. I suspect it will be popular particularly with Insight users.

Glorfindel March 9th, 2005 06:23 PM

I'll look into it.

This is becoming somthing of a quest for me to find a way to get around insights little plan.I wouldn't be suprised if in the future they start charging people for p2p access

I think the other guys instructions were pretty good up until the actual proxy configuration part then it got a little vague. But If he would post a more detailed example of how to do that it would be great.
