I don't get it....what am I supposed to be doing? Updating my Network Card drivers? I don't even know which one I have...

Even stranger, this problem only started when I updated LW from 4.4-4.6, and even going back to 4.4 doesn't fix the problem.

Did you try the steps in the link I posted the 2nd time???

And softl link is for your chipset if it needs updated. You can find this in start>contol panel>systems>hardware>device manager ---
That will show you all the hardware installed in your system.

You may not have that chipset, but it is a good suggestion, even if the link is on a page written in Thai.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just figured out what the problem was, it's Java. It doesn't display properly, anything linked with Java on my compuyter doesn't work (whether this is to do with graphics card drivers, I dunno) but I loaded up LW, got the error message, guessed where ''ok'' was, clicked it, guessed where all the other things like language options were, and when I got thru all that, LW worked!

Thanks for your help m8.

More importantly, how to fix it:

1.) Load up LW and wait for the error message
2.) Guess where OK is and click it, the message should go away (or there might be more than 1 so keep clicking)
3.) Then keep guessing where the 'Next' button is in language/directory options
4.) LW will load up but it will appear blank
5.) DON'T CLOSE LW, but load it up again
6.) Minimize it so it is not full screen, then drag it off the screen and back on (dunno why it doesn't appear unless you do this)
7.) LW should appear as normal

You might have to do that every time you load it up but who cares?! It's working!

Update: I was playing around with Java to see if I could find the cause of the problem, and I crashed to a BSOD. I didn't get a chance to write down the whole file name as my computer restarted, but the problem was caused by a file called ''atidoeg3.dll'' or something like that. I take it this proves that the ATI drivers are the cause of the problem, and that we should contact ATI about it!

That would be a good thing to do. If you happen to get any more of that error msg. It would be good to post back what it exaclty says. This will help the Developers for LW.

Thank you

I'm pretty sure this is an ATI Driver/Java problem as when I try and open up the Java Management Console, it's just grey, like the LW error message.

Go to the forum index first https://www.gnutellaforums.com/

Look at the client forums & find the client (Phex, LimeWire, BearShare etc) that you're using. Now go to the appropriate sub forum for your question (connection problems, upload/download problems etc). Once you've found the right place to be, click on the New Thread button in the top left corner...that will let you create a thread

Also check out the threqd below (click on blue link)
