Problems launching files with special characters in paths and filenames I am using limewire with winamp on a WinNT4.0 system, and I am sharing have a bunch of files whose names (or paths) contain special characters such as 'ä', 'é' etc. These are displayed alright and winamp seems to have no problems with them as long as I start them directly out of the OS, but apparently it is not possible to launch them out of limewire. Is this a known bug? And is there a workaround (or an upcoming fix) for it? Thanx, Jens |
An Example, no problem: One of my files is named "Wagner - Tannhäuser - Overture.mp3". It is displayed alright in the "Library" tab of LimeWire (BTW, I'm using v.1.6d), but I can't launch it from there. The same applies to files with no special characters in their names but with special characters in their directory (e.g. "Shared\classical\D-F\Dvorák"). Any ideas? Jens |
This is a trait of LimeWire for the time being. I'm not sure if it a bug or not, or if the developers are going to change this in the future. Perhaps a developer could comment on this? Thanks. :-) |
Cool! Thank you afisk. :-) |
